Vehicle Winter Safety Tips (Yes, even for Texans!)

Are you ready for colder weather? Sure, it’s Texas so we’re probably safe from blizzards and massive snowstorms. Still, as it starts to get chillier, it’s best to have your car prepared for these fall and winter months. Here are some tips to make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape from October to February and beyond!: Make sure your battery is fully charged.  Your Leif Johnson service technicians will know what to check for and will let you know whether it’s time to replace that battery or not. Replace frayed or cracked belts and have Leif Johnson professionals check to make sure there are no leaks and/or loose hoses. Specially designed tires are often recommended even if snow isn’t commonplace as lower temps can affect rubber that wasn’t designed for the cold. Ask your Leif Johnson service questions and they’ll give you recommendations based on the make and model of vehicle. Be sure to check that your signals, headlamps, tail lamps, fog lamps and other lights are all functioning correctly. If you do have a burned out bulb, Leif Johnson can provide you with …

Customer Highlights: Tim Garrett

Customer Tim Garrett was led to Truck City by his brother, who recommended our dealership based on the several trucks he’d bought from us in the past. Owner of Laguna Landscape, Tim was in need of a reliable and durable truck. And that’s exactly what he found here at Truck City. He tells us that his time spent with his car dealer Eddie was a “Completely different experience” than any he’s had at other car dealerships in the past. He recounts his time at another dealership, where he had to fill out application after application. Tim says he remembers thinking to himself, “I don’t belong here.” That’s where Truck City came in. “I said ‘Here’s what I need’ and he (Eddie) said ‘Okay.”  It was just that simple, and Tim loved that. He notes that the process was so much easier than any he’d ever experienced anywhere else. Tim and his brother have both bought multiple trucks from Truck City in the past, and plan on continuing to do so in the future. When asked about owning his own landscape business, Tim …

Keeping up with the latest gadgets and gizmos can be tough. That’s where Leif Johnson Ford’s Sync Team comes in to make life just a little bit easier. They’re here to help you pair your smart phone with your new Ford, and to provide continued support and education later on down the road too. Today we got together with some of our handy-dandy Sync guys to ask for a few tips. They let us in on a few “Don’t do’s” that will help your phone and your Ford become fast friends in no time. Here’s what they had to tell us: 1. Don’t USB connect your iPhone to your Ford. (It can cause problems with voice command) 2. No Emojis in your contact list. (They’re so fun, we know. But they’ll lock the system up as it cannot recognize these adorable little faces.) 3. Don’t answer and receive phone calls on the phone, use hands free. It’s set up to be a hands-free systems, after all. Simple as they may be, these pointers will help your smart phone to be, …

Employee Highlights–Rachel

Rachel recently bought her new Ford from Leif Johnson and couldn’t be more pleased with her purchase! She tells us that her dad has happily bought many cars from Leif in the past, and that is what eventually brought her to our door. After an “awful experience” at another dealership, it was a relief coming into Leif. “When I walked in everyone was super nice! I got such a good deal. Brandon (Her salesman) called and checked on me twice to make sure everything was good. And my gas mileage is cut in half!” Rachel has nothing but good things to say about buying a car with Leif, and couldn’t believe that she was able to profit $10,000 from her old burnt orange Mazda, just days after trading it in. “I’m really impressed!” Rachel tells us, with a big smile on her face and her new Ford by her side. But Rachel’s story with Leif doesn’t end here. Just two days after buying her new car, a mishap at the car-wash led to her windshield …

Flying cars and the Magic of Ford

Recently I discovered that the flying car in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was in fact a light blue Ford Anglia 105E Deluxe  and known as the Flying Ford Anglia. In the Harry Potter series the car is a Weasley family vehicle that was modified by Arthur Weasley to be able to fly, as well as become invisible, via the use of a specially installed device called the invisibility booster. It was also modified so that it could fit eight people, six trunks, two owls, and a rat comfortably. Of course the invisibility booster proved to be faulty which got our heroes Harry Potter and Ron Weasley into a world of trouble when they crashed it into the Whomping Willow. How ever the Flying Ford Anglia literally proved to be a strong, dependable vehicle when it withstood months in the enchanted forest and rescued our heroes from being eaten by giant spiders. Although we cant sell you a flying Ford we can guarantee that our cars are just as sturdy and dependable. See this awesome Ford Angelina Flying car in action. I wonder …
