Meet Larry Robinson. He’s our detail manager at Leif Johnson Ford, and is currently celebrating eight years of having worked with us. When asked what his favorite thing is, he smiles and tells us, “There’s a new challenge every day. There’s always something different, it’s never the same.” In his spare time, Mr. Robinson tells us that he loves to play golf, racquetball and basketball. One could say it really takes an eye for detail to skillfully play all of those sports (See what we did there?) It is his great energy, spirit and work ethic that make Larry such a great addition to our team. Meet our make ready crew. These guys help get our Fords spick, span and ready to go. We are so thankful for Vaughn House, a local nonprofit the helps deaf adults with disabilities find jobs, for helping us locate these amazing team members of ours. The 2016 Ford Explorer has just arrived at Leif Johnson Ford, and she’s a beauty. Here’s what we’ve loving about our newest addition: The new body style: The sharper angles are sexier than ever. The 180 degree camera is a convenience not afforded to previous Explorers. This includes front and rear wide-angle lens cameras that have their own built in washers. Fancy, eh? An active grille closes on the freeway to reduce drag and opens at lower speeds, thus offering more air. It’s summertime in Texas, and the living is easy. And really, really hot. Leif Johnson Ford is here to prepare you for these sizzling months.with some quick summertime vehicle tips. If possible, keep your car in the garage or keep it covered to sidestep much damage from the sun. Sun damage on cars can  fade paint and interior materials over time. This is another tip for older cars or even newer cars without a reliable air cooling system. (AKA probably not a Ford….Ha. But really.) She has just reached seventeen years of working with us, and we couldn’t be more thankful for her hard work, wonderful attitude and incredible leadership skills. She works remotely, so though we don’t see her often, we don’t know what we would do without her! Like the Charlie of Charlie’s Angels, she is rarely seen but a vital part of our team just the same. It’s almost summer, and that means it’s the absolute perfect time to make memories by hitting the road. Before you and yours head out on that summertime road-trip, Leif Johnson Ford has a few tips to keep you safe and make your trip as fun and simple as possible. 1.  Download handy car apps like Breakdown Lane App and Waze. Waze alerts you of traffic and allows you to interact with others on the road, while Breakdown Lane App will show you an instant map of the closest mechanics and their customer rankings, complete with reviews and ratings from Car Talk website visitors. 2. Don’t over drive, and make frequent stops. Stop for a short break every few hours to walk around to help stay alert. Also remember that professional truckers aren’t supposed to drive more than 11 hours in a 14-hour workday, and it’s been proven that driving tired is just as dangerous as driving drunk. Taylor Anderson has a self professed “need for speed.”   Back in 2012, he bought his 2013 Mustang from Leif Johnson Ford, and today he was back for a routine oil change and tire rotation. When asked how he likes his Mustang, he enthusiastically tells us, “It’s been so great.” Taylor is a twenty year old studying law enforcement at Texas State, but he has a pretty impressive hobby on the side. At the age of only 17, Taylor became a pilot. His dad is also a pilot, so you could probably say that flying runs in this family. A Mustang is most definitely the perfect vehicle for an adventurous and adrenaline-craving spirit such as Taylor. As he waited for his current Mustang to get serviced up, Taylor couldn’t help admiring our more current model. In fact, before leaving, he made sure to test drive the 2015 Mustang Convertible. We couldn’t be more proud to help fuel Mr. Anderson’s need for speed!

What’s a better mother daughter bonding experience than buying a brand new Ford? That’s exactly what mom Leana and daughter Phoebe did at Truck City Ford. We talked to Phoebe, and absolutely loved the time she spent with us at our Truck City Ford location. “Our experience was great and Ken was awesome.” she said. A lovely new Escape for two lovely ladies. Wendy is a third time Ford-buyer from our Leif Johnson Central location. Her last car was totaled and the damage was severe, but miraculously, Wendy came out of the accident unscathed. This week she was back at our dealership, safe and joking that she must be a “new car enthusiast.” “Third one’s a charm!” she said with a smile. Our dealership just wouldn’t be quite the same without the amazing ladies who buy from us, bringing laughter and personality every time they walk through our doors!

At Leif Johnson Ford, we truly value both our customers and our employees. Take Larry Kirbo, for instance. He is celebrating thirty-five years of working with us in the Parts Department. It is always a joy to walk into the Parts Department. There are many long term employees who are always smiling, joking and laughing with one another, and it is clear to see how much they value their fellow team members. It is no surprise then that Larry tells us his favorite part about working with us is “the people” and the “comradery” built around our team at Leif Johnson Ford. We love learning about our employees too, and loved hearing that in his spare time, Larry is a talented guitar player. He will even be playing for SXSW this year! As for our customers, we’re pretty fond of them and their stories too. For instance–Angelica and Philip Rivera. These two are happy, and for lots of reasons. Philip has been deployed for about a year now, and him and Angelica just tied the knot about …

Another day, another happy customer story. Michael and Megan couldn’t be more delighted with their brand new 2015 F-150s from Leif Johnson Ford. They bought their his and hers vehicles last week, appropriately purchased on the day of L-O-V-E. Talk about a perfect Valentine’s day gift! This isn’t Megan’s first time cruising around with Leif Johnson Ford. When asked about her experience, she couldn’t say enough good things about our dealership. “I had a wonderful experience. Tom Bobb was so good that he sold us two brand new trucks!! I have purchased 6 vehicles from Leif Johnson Ford and have loved my experience every time. Retiring in Style (With a little help from Leif Johnson Ford)

Imagine selling your house, getting rid of your vehicles and quitting your job. All at the same time. Sounds a little crazy, eh? But this is exactly what Doug and Doris Henderson are in the process of doing. They are “right in the middle” of retirement, and even though Doris half-jokes that they are “homeless and jobless”,their future is actually looking pretty darn awesome. These two are getting ready to forget about all of that work stuff and move to the beaches of Corpus Christi. They also needed vehicles more suitable for their new adventures. That’s where we come in. A new Ford Edge and F-150 later, this sweet couple is ready to start a new chapter of their lives. And it looks like it’s going to be full of relaxation, sand, sun and plenty of smooth sailing. (Or driving.) Leif Johnson Ford couldn’t be happier to help the Hendersons retire in style.
