How To: Keep Your Car Looking And Smelling New

You know that delightful scent of stepping into a brand new car? Or the feel of gazing at your Ford after its had a detailed car wash? What if we told you that you could keep that new car smell and look with just a few simple steps? Read on, Fordies! Washing the outside: Make sure you are using a proper car soap, not regular soap. Get two buckets. Fill one with soapy water and the other will regular H20. Start by dipping the sponge in soapy water and begin cleaning your car. Alternate to the regular water, removing any debris you may have collected from the car. Rinse and repeat over the entirety of your vehicle. Make sure to dry off your car after soaping. If you don’t, you might end up with unwanted spots. Tip: Try using a microfiber cloth. They work really well! Employee Highlights

Meet Larry Robinson. He’s our detail manager at Leif Johnson Ford, and is currently celebrating eight years of having worked with us. When asked what his favorite thing is, he smiles and tells us, “There’s a new challenge every day. There’s always something different, it’s never the same.” In his spare time, Mr. Robinson tells us that he loves to play golf, racquetball and basketball. One could say it really takes an eye for detail to skillfully play all of those sports (See what we did there?) It is his great energy, spirit and work ethic that make Larry such a great addition to our team. Meet our make ready crew. These guys help get our Fords spick, span and ready to go. We are so thankful for Vaughn House, a local nonprofit the helps deaf adults with disabilities find jobs, for helping us locate these amazing team members of ours. We know our LJF family would not be the same without their hard work and fantastic personalities. Teamwork is the ability to work together …

Two Years at Leif Johnson Ford

Yesterday I took a shotgun ride in probably the coolest car ever. The 2016 Ford Mustang, California Special Edition. The top was down, the wind was blowing in my hair and Taylor Swift was on the radio. The Mustang makes you feel like summer could go on forever. I’m Christina, the social media representative at Leif Johnson Ford. This means I am the blog writer, the social media updater, employee and customer interviewer and etcetera. It’s a fun gig, but it’s especially fun because of where I work and who I get to work with. I’ve made great friends and taken some great rides. Cruising around in F-150s, Mustangs, Fiestas and every Ford in between has taught me that these rides really are Built Ford Tough. Ford truly focuses on safety, reliability and innovation like no other car company. Did you know they’re working on an Apple watch to pair with and help control your car? Or that they’re developing a spider screen to keep the creepy crawlies out of your vehicle? Or that the 2015 F-150 …

Customer Highlights: Marcy Stellfox

Here at Leif Johnson Ford, our customers are built just as tough as our Fords. This week we had the honor of chatting with the lovely and big-hearted Mary Stellfox. She’s a self proclaimed hippie cowgirl with a passion for life, horses and her new F-150, Emma Jane. (Obviously her F-150 is a lady because, as Marcy puts it, she’s “Strong on the outside, beautiful on the inside.”) Read on to learn a little more about Marcy and the total rock-star that she is! Can you tell us how your love for horses began? : A big piece that fuels who I am is my love for animals. I’ve been a supporter, foster parent and volunteer for Heart of Texas Lab Rescue for several years. My dear friend, Margaret, President of HOTLR, suffered a terrible accident with a horse. After 3+ years of recovery, she was ready to get back in the saddle but wanted to start back at the basics. She needed a partner in crime, I agreed to join her and have never …

Phillip White has just purchased a 2015 Ford F-150, his fourth truck buy from Leif Johnson Ford. It’s not hard to see how satisfied he is with his new beauty. “The design is completely different than the 2014, it’s laid out better, it’s wider. I love the design.”He also loves his dealership of choice. When asked about his experiences at Leif Johnson Ford, he tells us, “They’ve always treated me right. Always. They’ve always worked with me.” Phillip is always a pleasure to work with, and we are honored to have had the chance to get to know him over the years.  He’s been buying from us since 2003, and we couldn’t be happier to have him as one of our longtime, valued customers. Mr. White is a retired veteran, and tells us he has had the chance to travel everywhere. In his spare time, he absolutely loves to bowl. And drive around in that shiny new F-150, of course.

2016 Ford Explorer

The 2016 Ford Explorer has just arrived at Leif Johnson Ford, and she’s a beauty. Here’s what we’ve loving about our newest addition: The new body style: The sharper angles are sexier than ever. The 180 degree camera is a convenience not afforded to previous Explorers. This includes front and rear wide-angle lens cameras that have their own built in washers. Fancy, eh? An active grille closes on the freeway to reduce drag and opens at lower speeds, thus offering more air. Smart charging USB ports charge smart devices up to two times faster than conventional ports The Sony sound system is back, but better than before. Live Acoustics and Clear Phase are made to bring realistic concert-quality audio on the 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum trim. Also noteworthy: This is the first time high-end Sony home audio technology has been used inside a vehicle!  The premium version boasts acoustic glass, brushed-aluminum and satin-finished ash wood trim pieces, plus a heated wood and steering wheel wrapped in leather, just to name a few things about the snazziest of interiors. Parallel/perpendicular Parking Assist always comes …

It’s possible you may need a recharge as this hot summer gets under way. You definitely do not want any coolant issues in Austin, Texas in July, right?! If your AC just isn’t seeming to get cool enough, stop by Leif Johnson Ford and have a service tech check it out for you! Here’s one for the safety of your kiddos: You may think you would NEVER leave your kiddo unattended in a hot car, but the fact is this: Nearly 1 in 4 parents of a child under 3 has forgotten the child in a car. If your kid is silent and you are distracted, it …
