Customer Highlight: The Levines

steve

Father and son duo Steve and Alex Levine are absolutely loving their new Ford King Ranch. In fact, there wasn’t anything they didn’t love about their experience with us at Leif Johnson Ford. Steve, enthusiastic and talkative, chats with us about what a great time he had buying his new truck. The last time he bought a truck was back in 2004, and he laughs when he realizes that two of the team members he’s talking with (The Social Media Rep and the Sync Tech)own  job titles that probably weren’t even around back then. (Times may change, but after over 50 years of business, you can bet the excellent service at Leif Johnson Ford sure doesn’t!)  When asked further about his time spent with us, he lets us know that his sync tech Peter is funny enough to be a stand up comedian, except for the fact that he was momentarily  sitting down.

Joking aside, Steve says that his salesman Leo was pretty awesome too. “I gave him three chances to beat other dealership prices and he was able to beat them every single time.” Despite all the laughter going on in that King Ranch, he made it clear that the unbeatable deals at Leif Johnson Ford were no laughing matter.

Come see the experience the Levines are raving about by stopping by one of your local Leif Johnson Ford locations today!

iPhone tips from Sync Tech Peter

As technology gets more and more advanced, its sometimes hard not to start head-scratching with confusion. But we want to make life just a little bit easier for you. Leif Johnson Ford has helpful and friendly sync techs like Peter to walk you through all things Ford and tech related. Here’s a few simple steps on how to make sure you’re getting the very best use out of your iPhone and Ford synchronization.

1. Don’t use emoji in your contacts. Voice command pathways are used to correspond with each contact, thus emojis are not recognized and this confuses the system.

2. Avoid plugging phone into USB port in your car. Your phone will charge much faster plugged into 12 volt charger with an adapter.  Furthermore, when plugged into a USB port, the two computers start talking to one another, and, as Peter puts it, Ford and Microsoft don’t work well together “when they’re holding hands.”

3. For all smart phones: When plugged into the car, use the car, not the phone when making, ending and receiving calls.

4. Clear out all active apps at least once a day. Your phone will work better, your battery life will last longer and you’ll have a better Bluetooth connection to.

Now if only we could all have someone like Peter around 24/7, to walk us through all of the tricky tech stuff. (Like getting that new snazzy remote control to work…) We’ll let you know if we figure out how to clone the guy. Until then, stay tuned for more tips from your friends at Leif Johnson Ford. If you need immediate help, contact Peter and the crew by calling (512) 454-3711 and asking for a sync tech!

Customer Highlight: Meet JoAnn

joann

Meet JoAnn Wolf– Proud owner of this snazzy buy, recently purchased at Riata Ford in Manor, Texas. This isn’t her first purchase from Riata, but rather her third in TEN years. She’s a longtime fan of our dealership, and we couldn’t be more pleased to have her as a loyal customer. But this dedicated buyer loves more than just the Fords she buys from us. She boasts that she has not only four grandkids (ranging in ages from 15-34) but also four great grandkids, and we can tell that they keep her busy in the very best way possible. And as if she hasn’t got her hands full enough, JoAnn bought this spacious vehicle from us for a very special reason. A dog lover and owner of three border terriers, JoAnn proudly tells us that that she will be taking her pups to and from dog shows in her new Ford.

We at Leif Johnson are so grateful to have so many unique and fun customers with so many interesting stories and from so many different walks of life. Now that you’ve heard all about grandma, great grandma and dog-training JoAnn, it’s your turn! We’d love to hear your story, and who knows….Maybe you’ll be our next blog feature on the Leif Johnson Ford blog!

Is Your Vehicle Ready For Your Summer Vacation?

Your bags are packed, your kiddos bag are packed, and you’ve got your sunscreen, maps (and/or Iphone’s Siri) and a sense of adventure in tow. You may be all ready for summer vacation, but what about your car? Read on to see what you can do yourself and what you’ll want to check on with your local Leif Johnson service center before you’re beach (or mountain, or desert, or…) bound.

Check with a tech:

Air conditioning. This goes on the top of our list because, well, we’re in Texas. It is hot, y’all. The last thing you need breaking down (besides the car itself) is your AC. Have this checked on by one of your friendly Leif Johnson techs and we’ll make sure you’re nice and cool your entire trip.

Cooling System. According to cars.com, “The greatest cause of summer breakdowns is overheating.” The system should be totally flushed and refilled every two years or so, while the level, condition, and concentration of the coolant should be checked every few months. It is possible to do this one yourself, but make sure you never remove the radiator cap until the engine has thoroughly cooled.

Overall Performance of Engine- If you’re engine seems to be running funny or you just want to be extra safe, come on out to one of our Leif Johnson locations and we’ll check it out for you!

Tires- Have our service department rotate these for you every 5,000 miles! You can also check your own tire pressure once a month, and make sure you have a spare and jack handy before you hit the road.

Brakes – Check your manual to see how often these should be checked with your Leif Johnson techs, or go ahead and stop by if you are aware of car pulsations, grabbing, noises, or longer stopping distance.

Emergencies- Ask your Leif Johnson Ford tech what basic tools you should bring along, and don’t forget the first aid kit, flares and flashlight.

Battery – Have a tech at Leif Johnson check your battery to assure it’s not weak once your trip had begun.

Do-it-yourselvers

Battery: This part you can do on your own. Clean all surfaces, scrape the grimy stuff off of posts and also wipe and retighten all connections. Check fluid levels every month if your battery cap is removable. Safety first! Don’t forget the eye gear and rubber gloves.

Oil-  Oil should be changed every few months, and it’s a good idea to have some fresh stuff right before a roadtrip. This is an okay one for the Mr. Or Miss Fix-It of the house to perform, but Leif Johnson would love to help you change your oil too! (Our prices are unbeatable, Stop in and see!)

Windshield Wipers- Nobody wants a dirty windshield on a long road-trip. A pair of new blades and windshield wiper solvent will quickly solve the dirty windshield dilemma.

Lights- Replace your burnt out bulbs, clean dirt and bugs from lenses and if you don’t want scratches, don’t use a dry rag!

All the little things- Wash, vacuum and clean out your car, check the coolant, fill the gas tank and don’t forget to have a BLAST!

One more thing. From all your friends at Leif Johnson Ford, HAPPY VACATIONING!

Employee Highlights: Ajay Malani

ajay

Salesmen Ajay is an employee of our Riata Ford location and a resident of Austin, though this isn’t quite his hometown. Ajay was not only born, but also raised in India–Not exactly a neighbor to Texas or our Leif Johnson Ford dealerships. Still, he made his way to Austin with his family when he was fourteen years old and has loved it enough to never move anywhere else since.

He also loves his job; More than half of his time spent in Austin has also been spent with us at Riata! Ajay has been with us at Riata Ford for nearly six years, and states that his favorite part about working with us are all of his customers. The feelings are definitely reciprocated, as Ajay is a favorite to many of the Ford-buyers who walk through our doors.

Whenever he gets the chance, he does make visits back to India, and tells us he misses the cooking and the people when back in Texas. But he loves the Austin life too, and spends his spare time playing basketball and hanging out with his wife (also from India) and extended family (also all living in Texas!)

Stop by Riata Ford and say hello to the friendly and knowledgeable Ajay today!

The 2015 Ford Expedition:

Ford’s 2015 Expedition SUV will part ways with its V-8 in favor of an EcoBoost turbo. It will also boast a brand spankin’ new interior and front styling, so you can rest assured that you will look fashionable with this Expedition in tow. Like many of the other new Ford 2015s, this Expedition comes complete with fancy new features such as a push button start and blind spot alert. “Ford invested wisely,” IHS Automotive senior analyst Stephanie Brinley said. “They updated the things customers touch and see.” Still, its not all about appearance. The biggest change is the switch to a 3.5-liter Ecoboost V-6 engine that is sure to provide more power and better fuel economy than the 5.4-liter V-8 present in previous Expeditions.

The 2015 Ford F-150:

Features: The 2015 F-150 has increased frame strength due to the high strength steel in the frame. It’s also made with aluminum, drastically improving this truck’s fuel efficiency. (We’re talking 700 pounds less heavy. Ford manages to stay Tough even when simultaneously becoming much, much lighter.) This Ford also underwent thousands of hours of torture testing, just so you can feel secure taking it for a drive through mountains, deserts and temps ranging from 20 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. With many new technologies including a 360-degree camera system, LED lighting for the interior and exterior of the truck and smart driver assistance technologies, you are sure to feel safe, comfy and, well, awesome driving your new F-150.

The 2015 Ford Mustang

Feautures: The 2015 Mustang is complete with snazzy additions such as a rear view camera system, a push to start button, Eight-inch, high-resolution touch-screen display and navigation and adaptive cruise control and collision warning. With the option of an upgraded 3.7-liter V6, which produces more than 300 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque, the fuel efficiency of this Mustang will also be rather impressive. Connecting the past to the present, the new Mustang has the look of a Mustang from the good ‘ole days , but the technological additions of 2015. You’ll still get the excitement of driving a Mustang, but that’s now due to independent rear suspension which will improve body roll, and isolate road imperfections for a smoother drive.  And when you add to this a sleek new design, a dramatically improved, luxurious cabin and exciting new colors such as Deep Impact Blue and Race Red? This is by far the savviest Mustang yet, y’all.

Leif Johnson Ford- Customer Letter

We absolutely love receiving positive feedback from our happy Leif Johnson Ford customers, and this sweet letter from John was no exception!

customerletter

“To the Sales Manager and Staff,

I just want to thank you and show my appreciation to the sales team that assisted with my new purchase of a new Ford Focus SE Hatch Back. When I arrived at your showroom I was professionally greeted by Justin and then Ms. Ashley Williams helped with every question and all sale formalities until I left in my new car.

I can honestly say from start to finish everything went very smoothly and I was quite pleased throughout. Although Ashley was relatively new to your sales department it was not apparent as she displayed confidence and competence of someone highly seasoned in her work. She is a credit to Leif Johnson in the friendly professionalism and customer care that seems to come very naturally.

Even though the sale is ‘complete’, I’ve been given every impression that I am welcome back for any questions, follow-up, and service and so I look forward to this relationship with Leif Johnson. Thank you again, and with sincere thanks to Ashley!”

Come visit Leif Johnson today to see this excellent customer care and treatment that John is raving about! (And maybe even buy your dream vehicle while you’re at it!)

letter

“Dear Mr. Lambert,

I intended to write this letter to you long before this, but I do want to thank you for your help Friday eve Jan 31 when my friend Marcia Evans and I had to have her 2013 Focus towed in for repair work. The Service Dept was closed and we needed to get a rental car. We had called a friend in Lockhart to pick us up, but you came to our rescue and provided us a rental car, so we were able to let our friend know you had taken care of us. It meant a lo to both of us that you in stepped in and helped us out. Thank you very much.”

From service to sales, we at Leif Johnson pride ourselves on doing whatever it takes to keep each and every one of our customers satisfied. Come in today to experience this service for yourself!
