Customer Highlights: Alice and Oscar

Oscar and Alice Nelson are long time customers of Leif Johnson Ford. They’re also great friends of ours. Recently, they bought their third vehicle from our central location. But on Tuesday, this isn’t what they came in for. Instead, they just came in to say hello. “We keep coming back. Leif Johnson Ford takes such great care of us. We stopped by just because we have so many friends here!” As they laughed and talked with our sales team and talked about how much they loved Gordon, our new sales manager, one thing was strikingly clear. When you’re a part of Leif Johnson Ford, you’re a part of a family.  

Customer Highlight: The Head Family

This week our Riata Ford  location had the chance to be a part of the beginning of a legacy! The Head family is starting their floor restoration company, and we are honored to sell them the first truck that will help to kick-start this business. Kimberly Head was kind enough to answer a few of our questions about their buying experience, and we were so thrilled to hear about her “Absolutely AWESOME” time spent with us. What We’re Thankful For

This Thanksgiving we at Leif Johnson Ford are thankful for so many things. We’re thankful for our families, both our biological ones and the ones we’ve made ourselves out of amazing team members and customers. We’re thankful for food, and especially for the epic potlucks that our employees outdo themselves with each and every year. We’re also so thankful for the opportunity to give back to our fellow Austinities. One of our favorite ways to get back is by participating in Earning by Learning. Each year, our Ford team goes to different elementary schools to listen to kids talk about the books they’ve read. At the end of the year, the kids are rewarded with money for the amount of books completed. It’s such a fun way to inspire kids to read, and we have such an amazing time taking part in this and many other community activities. Last but not least? We’re thankful for YOU! Being your Austin Ford specialist is the greatest honor. Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!

Race For The Cure with Leif Johnson Ford

Race For the Cure is known for fighting breast cancer both globally and locally. Whether it’s  education, screening, treatment, follow-up care, survivorship support, advocacy or research, Susan G. Komen is attacking this disease. Since 1999, Komen Austin has invested nearly $11 million into breast health services and educational efforts in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties. Globally, almost $5 million has been raised to fund research studies in search for a cure. Ford is a proud sponsor of Race For The Cure, and our team here at Leif Johnson Ford loves having the chance to take part in this race. This is just one of the ways our LJF family is able to give back to our amazing Austin community; We couldn’t be more thankful for these opportunities to  that allow us to give back to strong and inspiring fellow Austinites!

Employee Highlights: Barry Beard

Congrats to Mr. Barry Beard, our current employee of the month at our Truck City Ford location! Watching Barry for only a few minutes, it becomes obvious that he loves both his job and the customers that he works with. His customers love him right back, and he has thus become Ford famous in Buda, Texas for his awesome service skills. We took a few minutes to interview Barry to learn even more about The Beard himself. What is your favorite part about working at Truck City Ford? : The great customers! We have such a great customer base, they turn into family and friends. What have your learned working at TCF? : I’ve learned to believe in myself. If you put your mind to something you can achieve anything. Meet Larry Robinson. He’s our detail manager at Leif Johnson Ford, and is currently celebrating eight years of having worked with us. When asked what his favorite thing is, he smiles and tells us, “There’s a new challenge every day. There’s always something different, it’s never the same.” In his spare time, Mr. Robinson tells us that he loves to play golf, racquetball and basketball. One could say it really takes an eye for detail to skillfully play all of those sports (See what we did there?) It is his great energy, spirit and work ethic that make Larry such a great addition to our team. Meet our make ready crew. These guys help get our Fords spick, span and ready to go. He is our current Employee of the Month at our Leif Johnson Ford location, and has recently moved over from Truck City Ford to help out in the Parts’ department. Happy Seven Years, Eddie!

Salesman Eddie Haddad has been with us at our Truck City Ford location for seven years now. He is a favorite among favorites, and his friendly, ethical and hard-working nature represents what we love so much about our wonderful team.   Our customers are pretty crazy about him too. One would be hard pressed to walk into our store and find a guest that Eddie is not laughing and sharing stories with. He is more than just a salesman in that he truly cares about each and every customer. At Leif Johnson Ford, we truly value both our customers and our employees. Take Larry Kirbo, for instance. He is celebrating thirty-five years of working with us in the Parts Department. It is always a joy to walk into the Parts Department. There are many long term employees who are always smiling, joking and laughing with one another, and it is clear to see how much they value their fellow team members. It is no surprise then that Larry tells us his favorite part about working with us is “the people” and the “comradery” built around our team at Leif Johnson Ford. We love learning about our employees too, and loved hearing that in his spare time, Larry is a talented guitar player. He will even be playing for SXSW this year! As for our customers, we’re pretty fond of them and their stories too. For instance–Angelica and Philip Rivera. These two are happy, and for lots of reasons. Celebrating their work anniversaries is a just a small way of saying thank you for all of they do for our Ford family. Meet Paul . He has worked with us for an amazing forty years, and is an asset to our Parts team. When asked what his favorite part about working at Leif is, he definitely has more than one thing to say. “All of the comradery, all of the friends. They’re all good people. I meet a lot of customers, and enjoy the public.” And when asked what he’s learned in his forty years with us he shares this, ” (I’ve learned) how to get along with people really well, how to treat people nicely.
