Truck Month @ Leif Johnson Ford

It is officially Truck Month at Leif Johnson Ford! Every year during our Truck Month, we donate $100 of each new truck sold to Susan G. Komen. This means that you are helping us save lives and give back to our community! Quick Facts: Just one $100 donation can cover the cost of a life-saving mammogram On any given day, about 1,000 women receive a free breast cancer screening made possible by Susan G. Komen Through Komen’s research and community programs, there are more than 3 million survivors and counting. From 1989-2014, there has been a 38 percent decrease in breast cancer mortality Last year during Truck Month, our Leif Johnson Ford family raised a total of $27,700 to donate to Komen Austin. We’ve only just begun week two, and have already raised nearly 5,000 this year! Thank you to all of our amazing customers who are helping us fight against cancer, one beautiful new truck at a time!     Advertisements

Truck Month at Leif Johnson Ford

Leif Johnson Ford is honored to be able to give back to our community in any way that we can. One of our favorite ways to serve our fellow Austinites is by partnering with Susan G. Komen each year for Truck Month.  What is Truck Month? It’s a time period (we would say month, but one month is never quite enough for us!) where our customers help us donate to the fight against breast cancer. For every new F-150 or F-250 purchased, Leif Johnson Ford donates $100 to Susan G. Komen.  This one hundred dollars affords a cancer screening, which could potentially be lifesaving. Susan G. Komen envisions a world without breast cancer. They are the ONLY organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease. Their goal is to reduce the risk of breast cancer deaths by 50% by year 2026. With the help of the community (that’s you and me!), they can help make this goal a reality! …

Employee Highlight: Jamie Reaser

Leif Johnson Ford is honored to not only be able to partner with Susan G. Komen, but to also have an employee featured on their blog this week.  But we are even more honored to have Jamie Reaser as an employee at our Riata Ford location. When Jamie was diagnosed with breast cancer, he couldn’t believe it. “I’m a 65 year old male. I can’t have breast cancer. I’m a man with breast cancer? This just can’t be.” . Although about only one percent of breast cancer occurs in men in the US, it is a possibility. With the support of his partner Glenn and his friends at Riata Ford, Jamie prepared to fight. And after rounds of chemo and surgery, Jamie was announced cancer free. We are so grateful that Jamie is a cancer survivor, and incredibly thankful to have this strong and courageous man as part of our Ford family. “I wouldn’t have made it through all of this if it were not for my partner of 40 years, Glenn, and all of my coworkers in the …
