Back-to-school Carpooling Tips

Summer vacation has come to a close (Can you believe it?) and your kiddos are officially back in school. Has this week been a little more hectic than you would have liked? Customer Highlight: The Levines

Father and son duo Steve and Alex Levine are absolutely loving their new Ford King Ranch. In fact, there wasn’t anything they didn’t love about their experience with us at Leif Johnson Ford. Steve, enthusiastic and talkative, chats with us about what a great time he had buying his new truck. The last time he bought a truck was back in 2004, and he laughs when he realizes that two of the team members he’s talking with (The Social Media Rep and the Sync Tech)own  job titles that probably weren’t even around back then. iPhone tips from Sync Tech Peter

As technology gets more and more advanced, its sometimes hard not to start head-scratching with confusion. But we want to make life just a little bit easier for you. Leif Johnson Ford has helpful and friendly sync techs like Peter to walk you through all things Ford and tech related. Here’s a few simple steps on how to make sure you’re getting the very best use out of your iPhone and Ford synchronization. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLxYE9n6EHo 1. Don’t use emoji in your contacts. Voice command pathways are used to correspond with each contact, thus emojis are not recognized and this confuses the system. 2. Avoid plugging phone into USB port in your car. Your phone will charge much faster plugged into 12 volt charger with an adapter.  Furthermore, when plugged into a USB port, the two computers start talking to one another, and, as Peter puts it, Ford and Microsoft don’t work well together “when they’re holding hands.” 3. Employee Highlights: Ajay Malani

Salesmen Ajay is an employee of our Riata Ford location and a resident of Austin, though this isn’t quite his hometown. Ajay was not only born, but also raised in India–Not exactly a neighbor to Texas or our Leif Johnson Ford dealerships. Still, he made his way to Austin with his family when he was fourteen years old and has loved it enough to never move anywhere else since. He also loves his job; More than half of his time spent in Austin has also been spent with us at Riata! Ajay has been with us at Riata Ford for nearly six years, and states that his favorite part about working with us are all of his customers. The feelings are definitely reciprocated, as Ajay is a favorite to many of the Ford-buyers who walk through our doors. Whenever he gets the chance, he does make visits back to India, and tells us he misses the cooking and the people when back in Texas. Leif Johnson Ford has been around for nearly 60 years. In these years, we’ve had the time to build a reputation as a dealership that goes above and beyond for our customers. Thirty-One Years at Leif Johnson

Darryl Washington is not an easy man to find.  Celebrating thirty-one years at our dealership, he has become a jack of all trades at Leif Johnson. “I do everything! I’m all over this place.”, he chuckles, after my coworkers have helped me track this busy guy down. We are sitting in one of the cars he has been working on, and it’s hard not to almost instantly notice Darryl’s sweet smile and great attitude. Darryl tells me that he started out working in the body shop, then moved to accessories, followed by make-ready and mechanic work. Though his title says he is now a porter, he is still willing to help out with anything and everything thrown his way. When asked what it is that’s kept him at Leif for over thirty years, he immediately gives credit to his managers and the great way they treat their employees. He even recalls going over to one manager’s house years back, and enjoying a glass of ‘cold iced tea.’ It is clear that Darryl is not only an employee with us, but …

Earning By Learning with Leif Johnson Ford

For nineteen years, Leif Johnson Ford has been a part of the Earning by Learning program at Allison Elementary School in Austin. What is Earning by Learning, you may ask? Well we have your answer, of course! Earning by Learning is a program that encourages students to read by allowing them to earn a dollar for each book read. During the school year, volunteers from Leif Johnson make their way to Allison Elementary to listen to children tell all about the books they’ve read that week. It’s not only an awesome way to get kids excited about reading, but it’s fun and inspiring for us volunteers too! So much fun that Leif Johnson has dedicated over 400 hours each semester for over 20 years! That’s a lot of books read by a bunch of amazing kiddos!
