Employee Highlights: Barry Beard

Congrats to Mr. Barry Beard, our current employee of the month at our Truck City Ford location! Watching Barry for only a few minutes, it becomes obvious that he loves both his job and the customers that he works with. His customers love him right back, and he has thus become Ford famous in Buda, Texas for his awesome service skills. We took a few minutes to interview Barry to learn even more about The Beard himself. What is your favorite part about working at Truck City Ford? : The great customers! We have such a great customer base, they turn into family and friends. What have your learned working at TCF? : I’ve learned to believe in myself. If you put your mind to something you can achieve anything. I also had one boss tell me “Build your company inside of this company, and you’ll be successful.” What are your hobbies outside of work?: I don’t have hobbies, I have kids. *Laughs* I have four kids. 13, 7, 4 and 2. (That’ll keep you busy!) I also like …

Windshield Wiper Tips

Hey all! Today we’re focusing all on your windshield wipers. Rainy season is approaching here in Texas and we want to make sure you’re ready to drive safely in potential downpours. We’ve collected tips from a Ford expert and from our very own Barry Beard. Enjoy! How to refill wiper fluid – Pop hood and search for lid with wiper blades. Fill it up, fill the reservoir with wiper fluid, until it’s almost full. Close the cap and drop the hood.  Easy peasy!   Replacing wiper blades- Lift wiper blades up and search for locking mechanism. Unlock it and wiper blades should detach. (This does vary from vehicle to vehicle, so be sure to check owner’s manual.) Installation is also simple. Lock your new blade into where you detached the old blade and you will hear a click. You’re good to go! But how to know when it’s time to change your wiper blades? We talked to our own Barry Beard on this one. He let us know that the wear indicators on our wiper blades are great at informing …

Happy Seven Years, Eddie!

Salesman Eddie Haddad has been with us at our Truck City Ford location for seven years now. He is a favorite among favorites, and his friendly, ethical and hard-working nature represents what we love so much about our wonderful team.   Our customers are pretty crazy about him too. One would be hard pressed to walk into our store and find a guest that Eddie is not laughing and sharing stories with. He is more than just a salesman in that he truly cares about each and every customer. Just yesterday, Melissa left us this beaming review, “I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Truck City Ford and especially Eddie Haddad. I was referred to Eddie by Dan Lamar- who sold me my very first F150- so I knew I was in good hands if Dan trusted him. The entire time, from start to finish, Eddie did not pressure me in to making a decision or to purchase something more expensive. I felt like I was working with a friend who really just wanted to …

Employee of the Month-Truck City

Our Employee of the Month over at Buda’s Truck City is Mr. McKinley Holland. McKinley started with us at Leif Johnson in 2011 and transferred to Truck City back in August. He absolutely loves that working here has taught him so much about working on different types of vehicles. His coworkers attribute his Employee of the Month title to the fact that he is a “team player.” On top of that, Holland says he has a photographic memory and can rattle off base numbers “like candy!”– A great skill to have when working over in the parts department! When McKinley is not at work, he loves to play the guitar. He’s been playing for about five years now and says that he’s “always been a musician.” A musician and a mechanic, McKinley is clearly a man of many talents! We couldn’t be happier to have him as part of our team over at Truck City.
