Leif Johnson Ford Road-trip to Kellie’s Baking Company In 2017 F-150 Lariat

This week, Leif Johnson Ford took a mini road-trip to Kellie’s Baking Company. Our team at LJF loves supporting local businesses, as we have been a local Austin business for 60 years. We’re lucky to be surrounded by other awesome and unique spots, and Kellie’s is most definitely one of them. We decided to take the 2017 F-150 Lariat to Kellie’s. Our sales expert Bob told us his favorite things about this sweet ride on the drive over. Here’s the lowdown on Bob’s fave’s: 3.6 Liter V6 EcoBoost; 10 speed transmission Auto Start/Stop Lightweight body / High-strength military grade aluminum alloy. Stronger yet lighter than the typical steel used on trucks. The Lariat edition offers upgraded Sony stereo, twin panel moon roof, blind spot assist, etc. Now that we’ve covered the sweet ride, let’s move onto the sweet treats.  Kellie’s Baking Company has been in business for ten years and at the Burnet Road location for three. They flooded a year and a half ago and reopened just two months ago. They are back and better than ever. If you …

Employee Highlight: Thomas Ledford

Team Member Thomas Ledford has been a part of our Ford family for TEN years now. We are so grateful for his hard work, dedication and the positivity he brings to our dealership. As our team is the backbone and heart of our business, we wanted to do a quick interview so you could get to know Mr. Thomas a little bit more!   What is your favorite thing about working here: – All the different people. I also love all of the different challenges that come with each day. What you have learned working with us for ten years? – I’ve learned both aspects – from service to parts. I’ve learned about different trends and different vehicles, and all the cool things that come with our new cars. What do you like to do when you’re not at work?: I enjoy sports, going to my freshmen son’s football games in Hutto. And taking our boat out on the lake , dragging the tube around. An travelling! As Thomas was being interviewed, he barely sat still for …

Tips on Tire Replacement

Knowing exactly when to get your tired replace can be confusing. The Leif Johnson Ford team wants to keep you safe and informed so we’ve made a quick video with tips of when and why you’ll need new tires. Enjoy!   How do I know if I need new tires? You may notice when it’s raining or just in general when driving that you have less traction. Tread wear indicators show up as flat rubber bars running perpendicular to the direction of the tread itself. If more than one or two of these are visible on a tire, the tread is getting low. Serious cracks in the side wall of tire or bulges and blisters on the tire mean it’s time for a replacement. If your car vibrating too often, one of the reasons for this could be that you need new tires. Most people don’t know this one – Check the date on your tires. On the outside of a tire on a right end, you will find a set of numbers indicative of the manufacturing date. For example, “1916”, which …

Leif Johnson Ford with Susan G. Komen

Leif Johnson Ford is fighting for a cause, and we want you to be a part of it! Throughout March, we will be donating $100 to the Susan G. Komen foundation for every F-150, F-250 and F-350 purchased. Here at Leif, we truly care about the community, and hearing the stories that have come with these donations has been incredible. After buying their new truck, one customer told us that their daughter-in-law was a breast cancer survivor. His purchase meant a little more knowing where that $100 of it was going. Then there was Marta Flores. She bought a 2016 F-150 and let us know that she herself was a breast cancer survivor. We are always so humbled by the amazing people who walk through our doors. These inspirational stories from local Austinities are one of the big reasons we love giving back in whatever way we can. Remember- For every F-150, F-250 and F-350 purchased in March, Leif Johnson Ford will donated $100 to breast cancer research!

“Too Good to Be Blue” Ford Edge

A couple of us Leif Johnson Ford gals recently took a ride in the new 2016 Ford Edge- In the Too Good to be Blue color, to be more specific. We had such a blast driving around the Austin area, stopping for a quick bite to eat and feeling fancy about it in our sleek ride for the hour. We also made a quick stop at a guitar store for a photo-op and, uh, maybe belted out a few 90’s jams while safely parked, of course. The 2016 Ford Edge just inspires spontaneity and excitement like that, y’all. Fun, smart features such as rearview camera, remote keyless entry system and intelligent access with push-button start made us feel safe and well, cool, just driving around Austin. With the snazzy Sync 3 System and ultra-stylish interior, it’s almost impossible to NOT dance and sing with joy in one of these beauties. So we didn’t fight it. We danced and sang our hearts out. It was an afternoon almost too good to be blue. Er, true.

Tribute to Glenn Seibert

Glenn Seibert, our beloved Part’s manager for 45 years, passed away last week. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Scott, our current manager in our Part’s department, worked with Glenn for years and recounts some of his best memories from time spent with him. ‘Glenn was known for saying, ”Sometimes we all must eat a slice of humble pie”.  He was known by coworkers for being both a humble and gentle man. There were so many admirable things about Glenn.  One thing that comes to mind is that for the past 10 years, he has taken his children and grandchildren on a cruise each summer. Glenn was instrumental in seeing many reach their potential.’ Dale, another coworker and great friend of Glenn’s, shares more treasured memories. “I started at Leif Johnson in 1982, I have known him since 76 when I first came to Austin. I met him at the Central Texas Parts and Service Club meetings before I came to work at Leif Johnson Ford. I have watched his sons grow up and turn into very …

Two Years at Leif Johnson Ford

Yesterday I took a shotgun ride in probably the coolest car ever. The 2016 Ford Mustang, California Special Edition. The top was down, the wind was blowing in my hair and Taylor Swift was on the radio. The Mustang makes you feel like summer could go on forever. I’m Christina, the social media representative at Leif Johnson Ford. This means I am the blog writer, the social media updater, employee and customer interviewer and etcetera. It’s a fun gig, but it’s especially fun because of where I work and who I get to work with. I’ve made great friends and taken some great rides. Cruising around in F-150s, Mustangs, Fiestas and every Ford in between has taught me that these rides really are Built Ford Tough. Ford truly focuses on safety, reliability and innovation like no other car company. Did you know they’re working on an Apple watch to pair with and help control your car? Or that they’re developing a spider screen to keep the creepy crawlies out of your vehicle? Or that the 2015 F-150 …
