Throwback Thursday: Let’s travel to 1959.

Top 5 Best Things about 1959.

5. The prices of well…everything. The price of gasoline was about .25 – .30 cents a gallon and they had guys in cute little uniforms come out and do a full service check.

4. The TV. 3 Words: I Love Lucy.

3. The styles.Women in the 50’s always looked impeccable and classy with their updoes and modest attire.

2. The music. Johnny Cash dominated the air waves and Elvis was on his way up. Listen to Folsum Prison Blues just once and try not to get it stuck in your head.

1. The cars. The vehicles from 1959 were like fine art on wheels. Let’s agree that the men who created Ford vehicles back in the day were true artists.

Now we can’t bring Johnny back to life or let you pay 25 cents a gallon for gasoline but we can still sell you this beauty:

Satisfied customer, Scott’s new Ford Fiesta.

Scott tells us about his positive experience with Leif Johnson and shows us some of the vehicles he purchased with us:

Buying a car can be difficult, extremely time consuming, and very frustrating. If you’ve ever purchased a new or used vehicle then you can identify with, and fully understand, what I’m saying. In short, car sales staff can be extremely condescending and disrespectful on many levels. The experience can leave you feeling devalued as a person.

I’ve purchased six (6) new and one (1) pre-owned vehicle since 2003 so I have an idea of what I speak. Among my purchases in the last decade were Dodge, Kia, Nissan, and Ford. All were purchased from different dealerships, except for three (3), including my most recent purchase, from Leif Johnson Ford.

And if you’ve never purchased a vehicle from a dealership then you can save yourself the nightmare and emotional trauma by looking up my friend Mr. Tom Bobb at LJ Ford.

Mr. Bobb is kind, friendly, respectful, and genuinely interested in, and values, you as a person. He listens to your needs and is respectful of your choices and requirements and is fully engaged and committed to working within your means in his usual easy going and understanding demeanor; a true gentleman.

I must admit I felt some urgency with Tom, not pressure to buy, but excitement and enthusiasm nurtured by his encouragement to run the car buying experience on my time. It was more like a guided tour. He showcased vehicles of interest to me. If he redirected my attention it was because we discussed my needs and kept me on track with respect to my financial resources. Tom created an exemplary car buying experience which was pleasantly contrary to all other dealerships.

Mr. Tom Bobb made a life long customer out of me. From this point forward I’ll never trust anyone but Tom, or go anywhere else but Leif Johnson Ford, to provide me and my family with arguably the most important purchase a person can make.

Thank you Mr. Tom Bobb and Leif Johnson Ford! I love my new Ford Fiesta! She makes a wonderful addition to my Ford family of vehicles.

Sincerely For Life!

Scott

No Scott, thank you for your kind words and thank you for choosing Leif Johnson Ford.

You’ve got questions we’ve got answers. Leif Johnson Auto Group employees answer honestly about everyone’s favorite topic:

Why does it take so long to buy a car?

Answer: Buying a car takes time. We are talking about a vehicle you and your family are planning on spending several years with. Leif Johnson wants to make sure that not only are you protected with such a big investment, but that it is done right the first time so that there are no future hassles. We want you to find the right vehicle for your needs so that you drive away satisfied.

It seems like my salesman dissapears for various lapses of time, what gives?

Answer: We have to obtain your financing, call for payoffs on your old vehicle, make sure we prepare the vehicle to showroom quality for delivery, get all of the DMV paperwork correct. Your salesman is working hard for you, to ensure that all the odds and ends are handled correctly.

What’s with all the delays?

Answer: Delays are generally from having to call your bank and obtaining a payoff on your trade-in or contacting wholesalers about your trade-in if you have a unique vehicle. Also, if credit is an issue it will take some time to nail down an exact interest rate as we have to contact the lenders. As we prepare your new vehicle, paperwork and financing we always have you, our customer, in mind.

How long will this take?

Answer: The time varies on a case by case basis. Its best to clear your schedule and invest some time into the purchase of your new car. We value your time and want to make your visit to  the dealership convenient and efficient. At Leif Johnson, we want to ensure that you have all the facts and understand everything from the financing to the features of the vehicle you are purchasing.

There you have it folks. Although buying a car is a fun and exciting time for everyone involved you need to be mindful that it sometimes takes time and patience on both our parts. And remember for honest people with honest prices visit us at Lief Johnson. Happy car buying!

Today I Learned: Getting Pulled Over In Style

Did you know that Ford has a website where police officers can post pictures of their beautiful new Ford police vehicles?

Officers from all over the world have posted pictures of their new rides through the interceptors on duty campaign. Now that the iconic Crown Vic or as I like to call it “the cop car” is no longer in production, police departments are searching for vehicles that are just as sturdy and reliable. Obviously many have gone with what’s tried and true with Ford.

Pictures like this almost make you want get pulled over to check them out…almost.

Not only are these vehicles gorgeous but Ford has made them specifically for the boys in blue and boast features like being designed “specifically for pursuit driving.” So browse through and hope you don’t ever see any of these beauties in your rearview.

And if you feel yourself getting car envy don’t worry you don’t have to join the police academy or get arrested to end up in a Ford. Just pay Leif Johnson a visit!
